About Us.
Detailed information exploring our core initiatives at Asha Rural Development.
Our
Story.
Founded in 1994 by a group of social workers and educators from Jharkhand, Asha Rural Development & Orphanage began as a small shelter home for orphaned children displaced by floods. Over three decades, it has grown into a multi-programme organisation serving 50+ villages.
Today we operate across child welfare, rural livelihood, women's empowerment, healthcare, infrastructure, and environmental resilience — all under a single, unified mission to break cycles of poverty permanently.
A self-reliant, equitable rural India where every child thrives and every community is empowered.
To deliver holistic, community-led development through education, care, and sustainable livelihoods.
Dignity
Every person we serve is treated with full human dignity — never as a recipient of charity, always as an equal partner.
Transparency
100% of our financial accounts are publicly audited. We publish annual impact reports without exception.
Community-Led
Solutions are co-designed with the communities we serve. No programme begins without local ownership.
Long-Term Impact
We reject short-term relief in favour of sustainable systemic change that outlasts our involvement.
